JESUS is the ANSWER

A Message from Pastor Les Larrabee

Matthew 27:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, "All power is given unto Me in Heaven and in Earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."

Acts 1:4... wait for the promise of the Father which you have heard of me.
v.5 For John baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
    After this the Disciples asked:
v.6 ... Lord will thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
v.7 And He said unto them, it is not for you to know the times or seasons, which the Father hath put His own power.
v.8 But ye shall recieve power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the Earth.

There are a number of thoughts I want to bring to bearing here. First, Jesus is telling us His purpose for coming down to man. He did this all through His Ministry here on Earth to demonstrate the love He has for His Creation; the greatness of that Love...unconditional love. Secondly, How to recieve and live in His love. Thirdly, to tell us that His love, which we enjoy, is to be shared with all the world. It is denied to no one.

Next, here in our scripture He gives the Great Commission... to go forth into all the world and proclaim His love that leads to the salvation of mankind. He is saying to the Church of today it is not about who can build the biggest and most plush church building, nor that it belongs behind the church doors to only a certain few. We are to go out to reach a dying world . Go to all mankind with the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Next He tells us that if we are willing to accept His Commission, our Heavenly Father has provided everything we need to accomplish this great desire of Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit. He tells the disciples to go to Jerusalem and wait for the Gift of the Holy Spirit, He says it was good that John baptized you with water, but now wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Then fullfill the Commission I gave to the Body of Christ.

For a christian to go out and witness without the infilling of the Holy Spirit is like a soldier going onto the battle field without a plan or a weapon. Many will say the infilling of the Holy Spirit was for the first church. Well we have seen the results of not accepting the Promise of God... no success at all for the Kingdom of God, only for the world of man.

When the disciples ask Jesus if this is the time He will deliver Israel , Jesus says, don't sit around and worry about what God is going to do, but do what I have told you to do. Get out of your comfort zones and go fourth, make disciples throughout the world. I often tell christians, "If you will get busy about God's business, He will get busy with your business.".

The Church people of today want to sit behind church doors in their comfortable pews and worry only about the next church budget or church dinner, how to build a building big enough to get all of God's Kingdom in it, then hope that some nice non-belliever will come by the church and like the appearance of the building and come in. Jesus didn't do it that way, what makes us think we can? Jesus went out to the lost. Jesus went to the healing service, Jesus went to the funeral and to the wedding. And yes, Jesus went to the Temple and was found there.

This is why Our Father's Ministries, through the direction of the Holy Spirit, has accepted the challenge in Ghana to reach those beautiful people for the Kingdom of God. And yes we need the support both spiritually and materially of Our Lord and Savior. And Cufchapel is a beautiful place to start... on our knees before the Throne of God.
