Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Do we believe the written Word of God? If so, then why are we wringing our hands and worrying about what we will do shortly when the bad times are in full effect and the Anti-Christ assumes power? Consider the lilies. They spring from tiny seeds haphazardly strewn along the ground. They don't pray; they don't have jobs; they are not on welfare, and you can bet your bottom dollar they don't worry. But look at them. Their beauty exceeds that of the richest human beings on earth. They are always blessed with this abundance. Who supplies?...Only one...almighty God.
But have you stopped to consider that these lowly lilies do exactly what the Lord requires of them?... They grow... They occupy...nothing more. The scripture gave us the key..."But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;...".
Instead of plunging into worry and despair, we need to be on our knees praying "Oh God, help me to draw nearer unto you. Help me to discern your voice. Make me entirely yours throughout all the times that face us now."
I tell you this, those who follow that approach will fare better than those who depend upon stores and preparation only. Understand now, we don't say that preparation in not necessary for many, because if they are listening to God's voice, and that is what God is telling them to do, then they should pursue this path with all dispatch. Most likely, they will be the means of helping many who don't have the finances to prepare in this manner.
If you are among the millions who dwell in the cities of the earth and have not means to store provisions and necessities for this imminent time, then do this:... Dedicate prayer and supplication unto the Lord God constantly; straighten out those things in your life which may be displeasing unto God. Fast as often as the Lord leads, and sometimes when he doesn't. (We are required to make an effort on our own.) Consider the lilies! Remember the Israelites when they were in the wilderness. They had no government to depend upon. They had no stores to fall back on. They had no closets to dig into. They had one thing, and one thing only...Almighty God! Think back, and remember where their food came from...virtually out of "thin air". The Lord formed manna on the ground, and sent quails till they covered the camp. (Exodus 16:13) No supermarkets, no grocery stores, no food cellars, and no bread lines were there, yet the children of God were filled. And take special notice of Exodus 16:18...
18... And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.
What does that have to do with us?...Remember Romans 15:4...
4... For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Remember that. These things were written for our learning, that we might have hope. Stop taking thought (worrying) and concentrate on seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and we will not only get through the hard times ahead, but we will gain the eternal kingdom of God. ...
