...The Times...

If anyone at all is still in doubt as to what times we are living in, then that person needs to consult the
Book of II Timothy, beginning with Chapter 3...
Verse 1... This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2... For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3... Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4... Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more
than lovers of God;
5... Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:
from such turn away.
Sound familiar?... Let's face it... it sounds more than familiar; it sounds like what you
see on TV and read in the newspapers now... this very day! Never before since the Ark has the earth been in such a degraded
condition. More and more, people want to do things their own way, then they twist the Word to try to justify the filth and garbage.
As Verse 7 describes them:
7... Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge
of the truth.
All these are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth simply because they
DO NOT WANT to come to the knowledge of the truth. The Book goes even
farther into these signs of the times in Chapter 4
...
3... For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their
own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4... And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables.
No one can deny that this describes the conditions that exist right now... in this day and time. Is
it hopeless? ...Not as long as there is a child of God doing what the Word teaches. And Verse 5
is one of the most critical of those teachings...
5... But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of
an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
As long as there are steadfast Christians who will do their very best to follow those teachings
someone will be helped. After all, we have only to present the Word... God makes it live in the hearts of those he has called. We are now
in the midst of the most heated spiritual battlefield in history. FIGHT ON! NEVER SURRENDER! Verse 8
gives us reason...
8... Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
