...Resurrection...
 |

St. Matthew, 28:1... In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2... And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3... His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4... And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5... And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6... He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7... And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
8... And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
We have just gone through another celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. But do we realize that that same kind of event is happening with every person who becomes a Christian? We are dead, in sin, before we realize the reality and love of Christ, and accept him. At the point of acceptance we are resurrected into a new life in the spirit. We no longer want the same things we wanted before. We are even ashamed of some of the things we have done before, for we are a new person with new desires and goals.
Having received this new "resurrected" life, should we not "go quickly", and tell others of the miracle that has been done in our lives? Yes, the resurrected Christ left us these instructions...
Matthew 28:19... Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20... Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
There are millions upon millions of people in this world who do not have the smallest idea of the extent of the miraculous resurrection that comes to those who come to know and accept the knowledge and the life of Jesus Christ. He didn't come out of that tomb just to show that he could...he came out to demonstrate what was in store for all those who would come to believe on him and follow his word.
All these millions may remain in the dark if there is not someone to lead them to the light. As the Bible says: "...how shall they hear without a preacher..." . It is up to those of us who have experienced that wonderful resurrection into a new life to be the preachers that this world needs. We need to become "fishers" of men, as Jesus said in Mark 1:...
Verse 17... ..."come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
All Christians have been resurrected... let us perform the functions, and live the life and do the deeds and speak with the conversation that comes along with that resurrection.

In Jesus' Name,
AMEN
