The title of this sermon infers two different things. First, it infers that the "Godly" will vote whenever the opportunity is afforded them. It is required of us, since Jesus, when he ascended, said we were to "occupy" until his return. To occupy is to perform the duties we have in this life. In America, voting is a duty.
The second inference is that our vote should be cast in accordance with Godly principles. In other words, we must cast a Godly vote, or a vote cast according to the Word of God. Let's face it, we cannot profess Christianity and vote against God. ...That is an irrefutable fact.
So how does a Christian vote? Here is an excellent guideline, with warning attached...
II John, 1:9... Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
In the upcoming election there are two major factors involved which must be considered: homosexuality, and abortion. Anyone familiar with God's Holy Word knows that He is against both. If there are any doubts, consider the following scriptures.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination...
Jude 1:6 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
      ...And, concerning abortion...
Jeremiah, 1:5... Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Matthew 18:14... Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
      ...Biblical summation...
I Corinthians, 10:21... Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the The Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
We see, then, that the will of God is apparent, and must be considered in our voting. Will you choose to vote for or against God? It is your choice, and you are not in ignorance.
God bless and lead each and every one.
