Precious Christianity... |

Why do we love and practice Christianity? Well, let's start with the fact that, throughout the years, we have experienced all sorts of movements of God, from miracles to healings to the gifts of the Spirit. We have always had the necessities of life... not necessarily luxuries or personal desires, (though we sometimes receive those too) but always the necessities. That is what God promised to those who follow him, and He has kept his promises. That tells me, by those experiences, that Christianity is real.
But there's a lot more to it than that. One of the things that makes it so precious is the fact that it teaches, and requires, love, one for another... not just for those who love us, but also for those who hate us. We are taught to forgive those who wrongly use us or talk about us. Love and forgive those who lie about us. Love and forgive those who would steal from us.
Not possible you say? Consider the fact that Christ, the founder of Christianity, did it all. He not only forgave, but prayed for those who tortured and put him to death. He did it while nailed to a rough, timber cross and bleeding from the wounds inflicted upon him by the very souls he prayed for. So don't say it's not possible. That arguement was nullified many years ago.
Another precious facet of Christianity: It doesn't call for the persecution or elimination of the unbeliever. Contrariwise, it directs us to help him or her. Give to them when they are in need. Cry with them when they are in sorrow; lift them up when they are down. By so doing we are serving almighty God. The Bible says that He makes it rain on both the just and the unjust, and if He deems it so, then we must also treat everyone equally. Every believer was once an unbeliever until someone helped them to see the light of Christ.
As a Christian, I look forward to entering into a heaven where there is no hatred, no war, no mistreatment, no killing, no pain, no ill will, etc. I certainly would not want to go to a place where evil is rewarded.,..We've got enough of that here. That is why Christianity is precious, because it offers an everlasting reward only for those who have sought and promoted peace and love in a land where goodness is the only thing that will ever be allowed .
