Have Faith?... |

Faith Still Works!
I was speaking with a friend the other day when, during the course of the conversation, he made the statement that God does not do healings or miracles in this day and time. I was astounded! He had heard me many times tell of the miracles our family had received in the service of God, yet he refused to believe, and chose to serve a God that would do nothing for him. How sad, to be one of those "having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:... the scripture continues.. "...from such turn away.
To justify his unbelief, he referred to the passage in I Cor. 13, Verse 10... "But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away." He believed that this verse referred to the first time Jesus came to the earth. In his lack of understanding, he failed to realize or consider that when this scripture was written, Jesus had already been here and returned to the Father. Yet the scripture refers to a future coming of "that which is perfect", alluding, of course, to the coming of the Lord in his kingdom at the last day.
The fact is, we need the gifts of the Spirit and the works of the Lord to see us through to the time of "that which is perfect". Without them, how can we possibly stand? How could we fight the pressures of these times without hope? And it is these gifts and workings of God which give us the hope, and the faith, to see our way through to that final time of victory.
I don't suffer the disadvantage of doubting the movement of God in our lives...not because of what I believe, but because of what I have experienced (refer to the Testimonies page). My friend doesn't have that advantage, and is full of doubt. But because of his doubt, he may never receive those experiences
You see, it requires FAITH to receive, and make use of, the gifts, healings and miracles of our ever present God in this present day. The Bible tells us that Jesus himself, in his hometown, "...could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them." Mk. 6:5 And why could the son of God do no mighty work? The next verse tells us that he marvelled because of their unbelief!
So you see that, without faith, we cannot recieve of the miracles and gifts of God; and it was that way when Jesus himself was here. But I tell you, from the knowledge of experience, that with faith, you can receive of everything the Lord God is capable of giving, and that is limitless!
May God grant you that faith till that which is perfect is come, in the name of the Lord Jesus...

In Jesus' Name,
AMEN
