we have a hot-line to the Creator of all things. We can put in our order for the healing of our afflictions; send our request for
the forgiveness of our sins; ask for help for those we love, and even for those we have never met; receive deliverance from our faults;
seek financial help from the maker of all things, and receive it all if we adhere to the conditions set forth for the proper use of this
hot-line. It's lines are never down; there is no bad reception; the operator is never asleep, and we don't have to punch in a hundred
numbers to reach the particular department we are seeking.
Where is this hot-line? What is it, and how do we find it?... It's very simple, friend. The hot-line is a thing called
Prayer. It works because the Lord God never closes his ears to those who seek him, and
we can receive because it is all his to give. Some may say, "I don't know how to pray". Well the subject is covered thoroughly in the
Handbook. Which handbook?.... Why, the Holy Bible, of course. In fact, Jesus covered the subject very well in
Matthew 6:9-13...
9. After this manner therefore pray ye; Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the
glory, forever. Amen.
That short passage will reach heaven when nothing else will. It is the perfect prayer and it will cover
every need, though we, in our humanity, tend to pray more specifically. It seems to make us feel better. But that, too, is covered in the
scriptures. Let us consider the Book of James, Chapter 5, Verses 13-16...
13. Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him
with oil in the name of the Lord:
15. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins,
they shall be forgiven him.
16. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual
fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
In this passage we are instructed not only to pray for our own needs, but for the needs of others,
and to have others pray for us as well. But consider a couple of stipulations mentioned here... It says the "
prayer of faith shall save the sick,..." Make note that it specifies the "prayer of faith
.". Then, in 16, it says that the "effecutal fervent prayer of a righteous man
" availeth much. Two things are required... FAITH and RIGHTEOUSNESS. These are two ingredients of
an answered prayer. Their importance is dealt with in depth in James 1:6 - 8...
6 . But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the
wind and tossed.
7. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways
Yes, the Hot-line works with conditions. But nevertheless, it does work. If we fulfill the
conditions we shall receive the promise. The scripture said to ask in faith, nothing wavering, and there is only one way to ask in
unwavering faith...fulfill the conditions! It is covered very well in the following two
scriptural references...
John 15:7... If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto
you.
I John, 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those
things that are pleasing in his sight.
That's quite a promise... "whatsoever we ask, we receive...". Does your Hot-Line work? If you are
fulfilling the conditions it does, and that is what's required. If yours isn't working, go back to the basics...start with the
Lord's Prayer, begin to abide in Jesus and you will have access to miracles with your
HOT-LINE to Heaven!
