Why Christians United?
![]() |

One group believes that a scripture means one thing, another group believes that it means something else. Rather
than love and pray for one another, each group sets out to prove that the other is totally lost and in danger of hell. This is not the way
Jesus taught us to behave toward one another. Consider the Book of Mark, Chapter 9, Verses 38 through 41.
38. And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us:
and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
Why "Christians United"? It is very simple. Jesus will return to receive his church...one church, without
spot or blemish. At this present time, Christianity is the most disunited organization on the face of the earth.
39. But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my
name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40. For he that is not against us is on our part.
41. For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say
unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

In that instance, the disciples were as a large portion of the churches of today are..."if they're not following us
then they've got no business calling themselves Christians." Such an attitude is exactly the opposite of what Jesus taught throughout
his entire ministry. And it did not leave off when he turned the ministry over to his followers. It is evident that this teaching persisted when
we look at the Book of Romans, Chapter 14, Verses 1 through 5.
1. Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth:
for God hath received him.
4. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall
be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully
persuaded in his own mind.

In the light of these teachings, how can the Pentecostal be down on the Catholic, or the Baptist down on the
Methodist, or the other way around. The only way that any of us can establish and maintain a live, working relationship with the Lord
is to follow his teachings. And we cannot follow his teachings and condemn one another. Look at the Seventh
chapter of Matthew, Verses 1 through 3...
1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured
to you again.
3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine
own eye?...

"But", say some, "they're never going to get right unless we straighten them out." Stop for a moment and
consider the God we serve. He is not simply a character in a large book of stories. He is alive and working in the lives of everyone
who has accepted him. He is quite capable of teaching every one of his servants exactly what he wants them to know. If we really
want to help those whom we believe are misinformed, or wrong, then let us do what Jesus taught us to do...Love them and
Pray for them, and while we're at it, Pray for ourselves too. But whatever we do, let's do it in LOVE and UNITY...that is the only
way we can please God.
